Avast VRDB Generator Help

Hi

I am new to Avast and want to know whether I should generate the VRDB or not. I do not really understand what it is for. Will Avast Antivirus work just as well without the VRDB generator? It sounds like it will take up a lot of HD space.

Any help will be appreciated.

I found the necessary information at the link you provided. Thanks.
It is suggested that you run the VRDB every two weeks or so in order to build a data base of your files so they can be restored if a virus should attack.
