hi guys, recently I have encountered another strange problem with my computer. One day when I turned on my PC, the windows screen suddenly turns purplish. FOr what I mean purplish is not like the monitor problem or cable problem, which the entire screen will turn into purple. My problem is, the coloration becomes abnormal. For example, the bliss wallpaper that I am using turns purple for the grass area, and turns deep blue for the sky area. And for most of the pictures, they all have the same problems, which they all have purplish color surround them. I would like to post a screenshot here to let you guy see, but I dont know how. I have tried to reinstall video card driver, scan my computer for viruses and trojans, and even use system restore. The problem still exists. I have tried to connect my monitor to another computer, and it works normally, so it is not my monitor fault. Lastly, when i go to safe mode, the coloration is normal, everything looks great. I really don't know what's going on with my pc now, can someone please help me out?

if your monitor displays the correct colours in Safe Mode it is highly likely that you have a problem with the drivers dedicated to your card. In Safe Mode default Windows drivers are used.

Uninstall all your video software through Add/Remove Programs, uninstall the video card in Device Manager. Reboot and re-install the video drivers - from the CD which accompanied the card. If no CD download from the manufacturer's web site.

    thanks Pete!

Thank you so much, Pete. It actually works! Before I just tried to reinstall the video driver, but I did not totally remove it. I guess that's the problem. Thank you so so much, I really appreciate for your help.

    You're welcome :)

Unless a driver/software install has a repair function it is always best to uninstall the original driver/software first. Over the top installs are not always succesful. Graphics drivers can be very picky too :)

BTW to post a screen shot use Photobucket or similar and post the URL here or, better still, become a Contributing Member :)
