I think I had this same problem with Netscape Mail so I'm thinking it must be a problem on the other end.

When I get an email from a couple of friends that work for a large local company in my area I can NOT forward them and have the graphics show up in my outgoing message. All I get the the confidentially paragraph at the bottom of their messages. Their text messages seem to come through and forward just fine.

I found a way to get around it. I just hit the reply button, erase the sender's, add other recipients and it goes intact and the way I received it.

I've checked TB's help file but can find nothing that deals with this.

Is it possible that the company's firewall settings have something to do with this? I've asked my friends and they have no idea why this happens.

BTW, a third friend works for the same health care entity across the river and I have the same problem with her emails if they contain images. I thought I could have them check and make a change if they were allowed to.

Their employer is the only thing they all have in common.

    Thanks.

If sent to the workplace, the employer has very likely the same set up.
Did you try to forward to yourself.
This reminds me that if I detect any Spam, I am supposed to Forward the e-mail to my ISP, and, I see all images.

    Yeah, I even tested myself.

I didn't realize it was happening until folks responded and said they didn't get anything.

I think I even tried Outlook Express also.

It simply must be settings from the work place or their firewall?

If I reply to them then the entire content of the email goes.

Well, as least I have a work around. More than I usually do.

I just thought maybe someone here was experiencing the same thing.

    Thanks.

I know that many sites do not allow Images. If you can forward mail from places other than that, it is not the program. And, the clincher seems to be the use of OE. They must be controlling something.

    Pat,

    Check your settings:
In Thunderbird, click on Tools | Options
Select: Composition | General tab | Forwarded Messages
Select: "Inline" from the drop-down menu
