    Guess...

Seems like something is trying to start the service a second time (?)... malware or maybe just a poorly written program.

Uninstall the latest in Safe Mode and see if that resolves the problem.

I don't know but that was in safe mode, in the Command Prompt. I run a full scan with Norton AntiVirus, no infected adware or spyware nor virus. But i also did an scan with SpyBot- which there was a few adware which was detected and i deleted it.
Is there any other option that i can do in Safe Mode to get it back to normal, i tried the Windows Recovery Console Program, and that didn't help either.
I got two computer here both running on XP, and over the last few days i been checking up and down on both PC checking the difference and what it cause it but it seems to be that nothing it different.
The PC that won't load up normally is my main PC i use, and can't get it working, this PC i normal use for playing PC games.

    Any other advise?

I unistall the updates, but i saw only two, which i unistalled, but that moment back 4 or 5 days ago i have an update from Microsoft -Windows Installer 3.0 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884016
and i downloaded it, but it promoted me to restart, which i was going to later on, then there was more updates, 19 updates from Microsoft after i installed the Windows Installer, but the problem is that i can't find those updates? half of them was Security updates.
"But Microsoft won't send stuff to damaged computers, right? "

I tried to use the system restore point, but it said that it was Unsuccessfully, and said that no changes to your computer were made?

Some updates 'disagree' with certain computer configurations and may cause problems. You will see posts on the BBS following Patch Tuesday (2nd Tuesday of each month) if any of the updates have caused people problems.

System Restore can be unreliable - generally when it is needed most :) Did you try more than one restore point?

    Read this post ....

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showpost.php?p=193774&postcount=4

Are both RPC services as shown in the atttached images?

If they are the best I can find on Google is that your system is infected .....

Please download HijackThis through Quicklinks in my signature and save it to a folder on your hard drive, say C:\HJT - not to the Desktop or a temporary location. When entries are fixed with HJT a backup is made to the folder from which HJT is run and this must be in a permanent location.

Open the folder in which you placed HJT and double click on hijackthis.exe and select Scan and save a log file - this will be saved in the folder from which you ran HJT.

Post the log here and I will move this thread to the removing Spyware & Viruses forum.

I did ask you to download HijackThis through Quicklinks in my signature - v1.99.1 The version you have used is the Beta version from Trend Micro.

The first thing our HJT experts will ask for is for a log using 1.99.1 so please do that. In the meantime I have moved your thread to the Removing Spyware & Viruses forum.

Although I can see some problems I will not advise in line with BBS policy that only those trained in the analysis of HJT logs should suggest fixes.

OK - a little patience please. Our HJT experts are always extremely busy and all are based in the States.

ok lets freshen up here, the last thing was installing updates and had those previous virus(above) which i manually check it to see if the Removal Tool was doing it job, which it was.
Then the next morning i tried to start my computer then it freeze by the Windows Logo before the welcome screen.
So i reboot into safe Mode, and fire up the command, and run sfc /scannow then it stated: Windows File Protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files. The specific error code is 0x000006ba [the RPC Server is unavailable]
I also chkdsk, which fix a few errors but when i reboot after that it still freezes. And the same when i defrag it.

The HijackThis log is above(the second one) v1.99.1
Oh I forgot to mentioned that when i tried to start it normally, the keyboard light goes off just before the Windows Logo going to freeze, but the keyboard works perfectly fine in safe mode.

Just trying to put the problem together to freshen' up our minds here.

    Any suggestion above this......

Forget it...... this seems to be a new troubleshoot problems for all.
because i did another full scan and it detect no virus but then i had a quick scan on another anti-virus application then it detected virus, and one of them was a RAT virus which i search up and it said that it's tricky to remove it, as it is a service which is already running, even in safe mode with all service disable, so i gave up and back up some of my important files and reinstalled it back as it was like as i bought it, because you know got a Packard Bell computer with XP installed on. (I'd use the Packard Bell Recovery program-Completed Recovery)

It's back to normally and it feels like i just bought a new computer!!

ps: it doesn't tell how I got that RAT virus on my PC?

thanks to those who tried to help!
