I use the wireless card on my laptop to connect to the internet. I use a crossover cable from my laptop to my pc to get internet on my pc. ICS is configured.

This worked fine for about 3 weeks. A couple days ago, it stopped working.

If I unplug the crossover cable, I can get internet on my laptop. If I plug in the crossover cable, I can't get internet on either computer. It seems like the second I plug the crossover cable into the laptop, it automatically assumes the internet will be coming from that source instead of the wireless. The computer is still connected to the wireless router, it just isn't getting internet from it. ICS is configured correctly. Both computers run XP.

Does anyone have ANY idea? I can't find anything on the internet about this problem, and I can't seem to fix it.

I fixed it. It's always the simple stuff that gets ya. It was an IP conflict.

ICS only allows one IP address for the card that acts as the DHCP: 192.168.0.1. That happens to be the same IP as my modem (DNS). I had to change the IP of the modem to solve the problem.

I don't know why it worked for so long with this ip conflict. I didn't think about it because the modem is behind the wireless router.
