    Dear Friends,

I would like to seek your valuable inputs related to the following :

I am using Microsoft Outlook Express 6 with multiple email accounts.

When I send my email thru one particular account, the following sequence happens :

    * An error box appears with no details
    * The email is sent but still shows sitting in the Outbox

This is causing extreme difficulty as the receiver keeps on getting repeated emails until I manually drag the email away from the Outbox.

I hope some one will be able to suggest a possible solution.

    Thanks,

Your Outbox may be corrupt ....

Close OE, search for Outbox.dbx (include Hidden Files & Folders) and delete it. When OE is re-opened Outbox will be recreated.

See if that fixes the problem.

Have you tried deleting it out of the Outbox?

    Hi Pete,

Upon searching for outbox.dbx, I came across two similar files pertaining to the same email identity.

One was of 76,043 kb and the other one was 75 kb.

Which one shud be deleted ?

There should only be one - delete the larger one for a start. OE does not care too much for folders in the 10's of Mb size.

    Hi Pete,

I deleted the outbox.dbx files related to this email identity.

    However the problem still remains.

You deleted both the outbox.dbx files and now have just one when you search for Outbox.dbx?

    Yes, Pete.

It shows one related to this email account.

Though overall it shows many as related to other email accounts configured thru OE.

A couple of other things to try ....

First - delete the account and recreate it - not copy it - there may be corruption in it somewhere.

Second - download and run Outlook Express Repair Kit and work through it especially re-registering OE and it's library files.

    Hi Pete,

I have configured a new account in the Outlook Express as suggested in the OE Repair Kit. (Though it was quite time consuming to take back up and copy the whole set of emails, address book etc)

However the problem still remains when I am sending email with an attachment.
The email shows sitting in the OUTBOX but originally has ben sent though.

What shud be next course of action ?

    Regards
