When I try and log in to membership sites, I get a message that says "Your security settings do not allow you to send HTML forms ". In have no idea why I have started to see this recently. I have tried changing the security settings but nothing works. Any idea what I can do?

mbramley--Please tell us your Operating System, Browser version, email program version.
Also, is this happening when you are sending emails (including newsgroups) or just accessing Internet sites, without trying to post/email anything? I ask since the error message implies that your PC is trying to send something.
Can you remember making changes, adding/deleting programs just before this started?

Mac? If so, delete the Internet Preferences file from the Preferences folder in the System folder.

I'm using Windows ME, Internet Explorer 6, & Outlook Express. I don't access newsgroups but have no problems sending emails. The problem only occurs when I'm asked to input a password in a box (on the screen, not a pop-up box) on an web page.

I suspect the problem started after I downloaded a program to stop pop-up ads. This turned out to be useless so I returned my security settings back to default.

Does this shed any light on the problem?

    mbramley--Got me!!
I presume you uninstalled that pop-up stopper.

Here are the results from a search for "security settings" + "send HTML forms" at www.google.com

"A user cannot use search engines on Internet. Gets 'can not send HTML forms' error. Can search fine on the INRAnet. You want to allow him to use any Internet search engine. How?

    * Go to security settings and disable require non encrypted form data "

If that does not solve the problem here is a site that discusses settings for IE6. Maybe you can find what you need.

    Good luck.
