    as per this situation:

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=31260

obviously AOL tech support is a stone wall.
I run a PC tech business and my customer wants her AOL, but it isn't happening due to the software intaller error.

I want to try and get into the real AOL to at least put the bug in their heads that I'm going to make a lot of noise, if they don't quit screwing over their customers without acknowleging any problems.

after telling the tech, this was a virgin XP reinstall he said "run your spyware and call me back" :D

    thank you
    always fighting for my customers

heh, no way jose. that is a trap. :D

OK, I do now possess the main lobby # of AOL, which I called and chewed them out a good one. ( oh yes I do, right there in Virginia)

they got me my answers fast. here is the deal:

this new version is for Vista. (the one with the out of memory error in XP)

the correct fix is to download ver 9.0 security and use that for Win XP PC's

wow, that was real hard. All I needed was an actual acknowledgement of the real problem and how do I get my customer back online with her AOL.
why can't the tards put that on their website? how many hours of tech phone time would that save them?

For future reference, the GetHuman Database, which tells you how to skip the annoying button pressing and go straight to a real live person:

Dial America Online at 800‑827‑6364, then press 0 at each prompt, ignoring messages.
