I have just installed a fax modem and added fax services (Add/Remove windows components). things were going well until I went into Server Management, clicked Fax (Local) and clicked on Configure Fax Services and I get the following error:

Fax service is not installed. In order to run the Fax Configuration Wizard, Fax service must be installed.

This is confusing me as I can click Manage Fax Jobs (within Fax (Local)) and it lets me into the Fax Console, I can also get into the Fax Service Manager.

I have tried sending faxes from Word (printing to Fax on SBS) and it goes into the outbox of Fax Console :) . But sending faxes through Outlook sending to
[fax:01410001234] just gets me an Undeliverable email with 'The Microsoft Fax transport failed to deliver the message to the recipient' :( .

Any suggestions would be a big help as I am new to this faxing on SBS thing.

I could be wrong but I believe you have to setup faxing localy just like you do on an XP machine. From the printers folder.

Don't have an SBS machine to verify.

Fax is setup on SBS and is shared to users of the network. A little confused why what you said can you clarify?

My XP client can print to the shared fax (on SBS) but when I try to sent a fax via Outlook 2003 from XP client it just returns undeliverable.
