Folder ownership in XP SP2 home edition

    When I right click on a folder I have 3 options: general, sharing, and customize only. There is no security tab. I'm not having problems with any folders but I just wonder why I don't have that option.

    Open My Computer and right click the C drive->Properties.

    If the File Systems states FAT32 that would cause the lack of security...

    That feature is only available in SAFE MODE for XP Home Edition. Even then you must log in with an account that has Administrator privileges.

    could that be the group policy makes all of this?
    did you/ or someone change some group policy without mentioning you?

    Thanks Surferdude2. If I need to, now I know to use safe mode.

    Net7plus1, no one changed the group policy, but thanks for the thought.

    Hmm. I think I'll leave well enough alone, and use Safe mode if needed.
