NAV Worm Protection Pop-Up

When I open some programs, eg. Skype, I get a security alert from my Norton Antivirus 2005 Worm Protection. No matter how often I choose 'Permit' 'Ok' the pop-up returns instantly, refusing to register my permission. Even now, though I've turned Skype off, the pop-up remains permanently on my screen. I just move it almost out of view because it just won't go away. Does anyone know what I can do to eliminate this problem, apart from turning Worm Protection off? Thank you.
