keyboards not working

    Last night I was on my pc and the keyboard just stopped working. All the keyboard lights went off. Tried other keyboards - same thing. Now I have tried to start in safe mode-keyboard lights come on and I can hit F12 to get to the boot menu, but then it quits again. Can't use up or down arrow keys to choose "safe mode ".
    any suggestions?

    USB or PS/2 keyboards? If USB have you tried a PS/2 or the opposite?

    keyboards are usb. do not have any ps/2
