    Using OE 6
    6.00 2900.2180(XPSP_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
I haven`t detected any pattern but some of my incoming Emails that should go to inbox go directly to deleted items
maybe one out of ten do this. What should I look for?

    Hi Dick

Any antispam software running? Any specific Message Rules in operation?

If that's not the problem the Inbox folder may be corrupted....

In OE make a new folder InboxOld and drag all mails from Inbox to that folder.

Close OE and search for (include hidden files & folders) Inbox.dbx and delete it.

Open OE, the Inbox will be recreated.

Drag the mails from InboxOld to Inbox and delete InboxOld.

    See how it goes :)

My service provider supplies " Postini" For stopping unwanted messages. It runs all the time.
Message rules ? I know not whereof you speak. Enlighten me.

    Alas,
I`ve received 23 messages since yesterday, four of them went to deleted items instead of the inbox. I`ll write down the next group of deleted messages and see if they`ve got any thing in common. Got any other suggestions?

Try running through the various stages of Outlook Express Repair Kit, especially the re-registration of OE and associated library files.

It seems to have healed up, why, I don`t know. I did as you advised in message # 3, then raised the size of message rules ( It was there even after I thought I had deleted it)
these steps didn`t seem to cure the problem. I emptied the deleted Items message box an it hasn`t bobbled since. Do you suppose it`s cured? If so I wonder what cured it ? Hmmm.

Time will tell :) Certainly a strange problem, but then OE does strange things occasionally, especially if the folders are large - 100's Mb > 1 Gb
