Hi, I dont know if this is a problem with Vista or Bigpond, but since connecting to bigpond ADSL , a Bigpond Toolbox box keeps popping up asking for your log-in details , we have filled it in a dozen times and it goes away , but keeps popping up at random,
When we check the toolbars etc there is no mention of a Bigpond tool bar to delete or shut off.
We dont seem to have a bigpond Tool bar just the pop-up?
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks in advance Des.

Did you use the Bigpond install CD when setting up your connection?
Sounds like something that would install off a CD. Although you should have been presented with a checkbox, particularly if you did a custom install.

I'd be calling Telstra (Bigpond) and asking them for instructions on how to remove the popup.

Yes, asking Telstra might be the way to go.

A point I might make is that toolbar and toolbox are not the same. Check under All Programs if Bigpond adds a "toolbox ".

One thing I might think is happening is that a program is trying to connect to the internet and that results in the logon input. The program checks it's server, disconnects, then tries to reconnect later. If you are using Windows firewall, check the "outgoing" programs.

Check if a program wants to connect to a different server, the mail sever would be an example.

PS Paul, hope things have been going well :) .

Hi, Thanks all who answered , I have solved the problem, it appears that when they ( son in law) was having trouble getting on the Net he was fiddleing in the setup, and changed their login details. so I was sorting it out for him and thought I would put the disc in to get the instructions , I started to reinstall it and it said it was already installed , so I took the disc out,and re entered their details & that fixed it.
It appears that it installed the " Toolbar " first, I found the removeal instructions on the Bigpond Website, went to "Add and Remove programs and uninstalled it,
It only seems to be an advantage if you are on limited useage as it shows your usage as you go it the toolbar.
All OK now Thanks again Cheers Des.:) :) :)

    Greetings Matt!
Yeah still around. I'm a bit quieter on Windows BBS these days. (Hey, checkout your post count!) But still occasionally pitch in. Vista is treating me well, and I don't "fiddle" with the OS as much as I used to. Spending too much time SCUBA diving in Tassie and overseas when the savings allow. :)

Des, Paul helped me out a long time ago. I wouldn't have thought he might remember. Paul "visits" sometimes. He seems to have some valuable info on Vista, so take note.

    :)
