My Win Media Player (v.10), Irfranview app. (HP Laptop) suddenly doesn't display correct colors. The desktop icons and Win Explorer thumbnails, etc. appear OK.

The colors are horrible purple tones and skin tones are green. I can reset these colors to display properly within WMP but the setting sare not kept. I have to manually reset each time I use WMP. BTW, Irfranview also displays incorrectly as well, but not easy to reset the colors.

Do I need to reinstall something or is there a 'secret' location for setting this all straight? Sys Restore, Image Restore does not help.

The laptop display is NVIDEA GForce 6150,
    HP dv9000us, XP SP2.

    Gottit!

After searching around and eventually crashing the entire system then recovering with Acronis True Image, I found it! NVidea set up in "Video Overlay" has a saturation color correction. Just moved the slider ever so slightly to the right and the whole system came back to life displaying colors the way they should be. Don't forget to hit the "Save" button.

Just in case someone reads this and suffers with the same symptoms.
