Identify basic internet protocols and terminologies

When it comes to this topic, I was told i need to brush up on it. Can I get an idea from you guys on what is meant by this, please? I would greatly appreciate any help given.

Those are alternative network protocol suites to TCP/IP. As TonyT indicated, your best bet is to spend some time looking through some of the online resources. An alternative to webopedia is http://en.wikipedia.org/. Search for the protocols in wikipedia and you'll get a basic description and links to other related resources.
