    Hi all,

I have had a few BSOD's recently and they aren't going into the Minidump file. I am waiting for it to finish the dump before I restart my computer. I also read somewhere, I think it was on this site, on the differnt types of dumps and how to change wich one you get. I changed it to do a kernal dump (I think that is what it was). I can't remember how to get back to change those settings. How can I get my comp to start putting the dump back in the file?

    Thanks,

    schafft

Thanks PeteC! Thats what I was looking for. I think my page file is to small. Now I jsut need to figure out how to get more available space on my C drive. I only gave it 10GB when I partitioned it and it only has 768MB left(before I do a disk clean up). Should I move the page file to a different partion and if so how do I do that?

    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately that won't work. The dump file can only be written to the partition that holds Windows, so the page file on that partition needs to be large enough for the dump to be written.

If you want to increase the size of the C:\ drive you will need to use third party software such as Partition Magic.

Thanks for the info guys! I checked the size of my page file and it was set at 2046-4092. I hit the set button and a message came up saying that the page file was to large for the amount of disk space I have left. So I figured out the the max I could go to was 2958, with the minimum set at 2046 still. I have 2GB of Corsair DDR2 800 ram and running XP Pro SP2. Will this setting of 2046-2958 be enough to use the kernel or complete memory dump?

    Thanks,

    schafft
