There is a website (Princess) that asks me to read and accept their tems and conditions. Then there is a proceed button to click on. When I click on the button nothing happens. It says javascript:valbutton(tc); in the gray area at the bottom of the screen.
I am using Netscape 7.2 with Windows XP Pro service pack 2.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bill

I see an identical post at another user group. I would have asked the same question. Would it be something like this? .
I would have never figured out that, probably, Princess Lines was meant. If, it is something else, please, give more info.

I was giving a link for privacy(terms and conditions). I don't use Netscape, but I can open the link you gave, with Firefox2.0.0.3, and I got a page which requires login. Obviously, I am not signed up, but the page comes up, with this:
You may not have logged in properly or your session has expired. Please login again., and the choice to sign up.

    Upon Further Review

I have tried this with Netscape 8.1 and I.E. 7.0 and it works!
It is only a problem with Netscape 7.2.
Unfortunately NS 7.2 is my prefered browser.

As you may know NS7.2 has not been updated in years. I am not sure why you have the problem, or if it is universal. I, finally, completely removed NS7.2, but Seamonkey should be usable with the same profile as NS7.2.
Two cautions. You don't have to uninstall NS7.2, but if you use its profile with another compatible program, you should not go back to NS7.2. You may be ok if you back up the profile prefs.js file from the profile, and, then delete the one you ended up with, after using Seamonkey, and putting back the backed up file. I prefer to create different profiles for each program.
In any event Seamonkey1.0.8 works as well as Firefox.

I have no problems accessing the site with Netscape 7.2. Curious as to what version of Java you have installed? The most current version is jre1.6.0_01.

Look in C:\Program Files\Java to see your version. Also check your Netscape 7.2 plugins to ensure that Java is working: Click on Help | About Plugins

You will see a list of your Java plugins there, also with the version number.

    That may be it!

    Thanks!
    I have Java 1.4.1-02.
How do I go about getting 1.6.0-01?

Try the Java downloads , selecting the type for your operating system. You should uninstall the old version, although I never do it until I installed the new one.

    Bummer

I deleted Java 4, downloaded 6, rebooted, verified NS know it now has 6 ...
BUT it didn't solve the problem.
    Thanks for trying.

Sorry to hear that, but Java would not solve a javascript problem. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the problem. Have you tried to contact the website?

Yes but without much luck. They told me I needed a browser update. This all started because there is no browser update.
The only way you could reproduce the problem is to have a Princess booking number. I am reluctant to give you mine.

    Bill,

This is pretty fundamental, but you do have JavaScript enabled in Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Scripts & Plugins ?

    Bill,

Your Booking info is much too confidential to give out, but since it is possible to access the site with Netscape 8, then it looks as if that is your only alternative.

So you are able to log in, but not access the booking site?

    Ramona,
Yes, thanks, Javascript is enabled for everything.
I do have the fall back of using NS 8.1 or even (shudder) IE.

    Bill,

If you're hanging onto Netscape 7 for Mail purposes only, have you considered the Thunderbird Mail Client?

Thunderbird will automatically migrate the Netscape 7 Mail, and will require nothing for you to do except to select Netscape 7 from a list, as shown HERE.

No pressure intended but just something for you to mull over.

    Success!

I was able to solve the problem simply by clearing the cache.

    Bill,

Good grief, such a simple fix, when we were looking for a complicated problem. Nothing like the good old basics! ;)

Thanks for getting back to us with your solution...
