Hey everyone. I have a 19" widescreen HANNS-G monitor with a DVI and VGA connection and a 32" ILO tv with a VGA connection.

I wanted to connect my 19" monitor with a DVI connection to the NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache video card's DVI connection and the 32" TV's VGA connection to the GeForce 6200 TurboCache video card's VGA connection to use the TV as a monitor. I realized the monitor wanted the digital connection so the TV would not run an analog connection at the same time.

I then tried connecting the TV to the internal VGA on my Asus Motherboard and then connected my 19" monitor to the VGA connection on the video card.

The problem is, I can't get the TV screen and computer monitor to display at the same time. Is this possible to even do? I would like both to work so when I am not watching Cable TV, I could easily switch to VGA mode and use it as a computer monitor without having to unplug the 19" monitor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Running: Windows Vista Home Premium
160GB WD Caviar hard drive - 2GB Maxtor PC5300 memory
    Asus P5L-MX motherboard
Asus GeForce 6200 TurboCache DVI/VGA video card

    Hello Collee,

My system might be a little different to your's. Anyway, try connecting both screens to the 6200 card (when you have an adapter card attached, the onboard graphics are probably disabled no matter what you do). Go to Control Panel (switch to clissic view) and open the nVidia Control Panel. There you should be able to set which display is primary. I doubt you will be able to set the TV as primary. There will also be setting for "clone ", but your cable TV software might only run on one screen or the other. I have two monitors, not a TV so my system might be different. Also be careful as what resolution you use for the TV, it may black out if the resolution is set too high.

In that nVidia Control Panel there should be a Help menu on the left-hand side, that explains about dual monitors and connecting a TV. There is also information at the nVidia website.

Vista looks a little different to previous Windows versions (I cannot see Display in Contol Panel). One thing I have found is to use the graphics card software to make settings for dual screens, not Window's Display setting, they clash.

    Matt

Thanks for the suggestions MattMan. Unfortunately, I have no nVidia Control Panel in the Windows Control Panel. Any other suggestions??

    Try this ....
    Desktop
Position cursor to any open area in desktop view.
    RIGHT click.
Menu dialog box appears, observe NVIDIA Display selection.
Position cursor on NVIDIA Display selection, another menu opens. (Should be model number of your monitor).
Move cursor to monitor model selection, LEFT click.
You should now have nVidia Control Panel in your view.

    UPDATE
    ==============
TO SEE ALL OPTIONS to nVidia Control Panel.
Click on "Additional Properties" opens/close option selection menu

MattMan, thanks for suggesting to download a newer driver. I wouldnt have thought the newer driver would have the utility to adjust it.

Dennis, thanks for telling me how to access the NVidia Control Panel after I downloaded the latest driver.

Between the two of you, you have seemed to of solved my problem. Thanks to you both, I am very happy and greatly appreciate it!!
