I would be happy to get some advice from u guys maybe there is a solutation how to do that without formatting the HDD (partition) becase there r lot's of installed software which some of them I can't realy get.

    Thank's

I do not think that it is the processor so much as the motherboard with its chipset - for example via or nvidia and all of the peripheals - video , sound cards etc.
Especially if you are using XP Home you will only be able to make a few changes and then you will be asked ( or told) to call Microsoft for an activation number
The Windows 98 stream is much more foregiving.
Even if all you change is the motherboard chipset type XP will just stall on bootup whereas Win 98 is much more foregiving.
It may run on Windows 98 - but you may still find driver conflicts so that things just do not run right as they should.
You will most likely have to reinstall Windows XP ( best fresh) or the best call Microsoft.
You can read the drive as a slave for contents

Thank's Visinof , I don't have a problem with activation key , I assume it's the chipset , before transfering the HDD I uninstalled some of the drivers but still no luck.

    Thank's
