    Hi all,

My first problem with Vista in two months of intensive use!

For years I have been using Mailwasher Pro in both XP and Vista Home Premium with no problems. Three days ago I upgraded to MWP 5.3, and this worked normally for two days. This morning, when I fired up MWP, the button appeared in the task bar as usual but the main MWP window did not come up on screen. When I put the cursor over the button the small image of the MWP window appears, but right clicking on the button I only get the choices of 'Minimize' or 'Close' and no 'Restore' option. The MWP window also shows up as a screen shot when I use the Windows key/tab key routine.

I have removed MWP, done a registry clean, and re-installed MWP but the problem persists. It is obviously a Vista problem, not an MWP problem, but I have changed nothing on Vista to start it. Any ideas anybody?

Not having used the latest version of MWP, I'm not real sure about this. But, the problems that I've experienced with MWP in Vista is primarily associated with permissions (so, I suspect that this is a MWP not a Vista problem).

I'd suggest messing with the compatibility settings for MWP to see if that fixes it. MWP also writes quite a bit to the registry in previous versions - so this may also be an issue.

As a follow-up, connecting to the same MWP installation from within a dual-boot set up of XP Home, MWP works as usual, no problem!

Then it's likely to be a permissions issue. I'd suggest finding the MailWasher executable and running it in compatibility mode for XP SP2 and as an Administrator.
