Title bar in IE

    Hi everyone! I'm not new to computers or IE or Windows, but I'm new to this bulletin board.

    Just a quick "first time" question, relating to the caption given to IE. I've noticed that some ISPs will append a string such as "provided by Freeserve" to the "Microsoft Internet Explorer" in the window title bar at the top. How can I change or remove this appended text. I'm no longer dialling up to Freeserve.

    Thanks for the quick (and helpful) response. I'm at the moment about to create some images to replace the Microsoft ones. Sometimes a change is refreshing.

    For years, I thought a throbber was something you got if you hit your thumb when hammering.
    But that site is good, and I'm already thinking of new graphics for my IE browser.
    Does all this work with Windows 95 A? (OK, we're all a bit behind the times here).

    Well, this is all absolutely spiffing, as you can imagine. I've got a new throbber all of my own, and it looks good for the first second or so, and then it all goes a little jittery.

    The sequence of images in the throbber starts properly and goes through one cycle, but then subsequent images appear to be starting at image 5 and continuing.

    In other words, the sequence appears to be:

    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10... etc.

    Can anyone explain why this is? Or is it just my PC?

    Daizy's the resident expert in throbbers; I'm sure that she'll be able to steer you in the right direction :)

    Well, this is all highly amusing and (relevant?) but I'm still in the dark concerning this "hiccupping" throbber. Hmmm, sounds like a new way of insulting someone.

    Anyway, I've been searching through "the internet" and have found quite a lot of material on throbbers, a lot of it very interesting and some of it amusing.

    Also, whilst exploring throbbers, I found alternative splash screens which you can download and use to replace those for such applications as IE. One such splash was dubbed "TotalCrap Explorer ", and this has made me grin. How about you?
