I get a window when I boot up that says "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" "Buffer overrun detected!" "Program: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe"
"A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internel state. The program cannot safely continue and must now be terminated. "
I overwrote C drive with ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE back up but I still get that message. How can I correct the problem? If I run repair from the install CD will that remove the message?
    Thank you

Thanks for the advice. I have tried several types of virus protection including Avast, AVG, Bit defender and Kaspersky. I like either Avast or AVG because they don't ask if you want to block the program that's trying to run. The other two have a lot of those pop up questions (if you want it to run or not). Would either of the first two be good enough or shold I use one of the last two?
    Thanks again

I use the free = Avast = 4 Home Edition - Free antivirus software - free virus protection for home PC: - full-featured antivirus package designed for home usage.(FREE) = http://www.avast.com , and really like it as it has always kept me safe from virus, worms, trojans, etc.

I like Avast too but I have reservations about the program since it doesn "t appear on "the best virus list" anywhere. I do like the way it upgrades automatically often. I guess it's decided then I'll use Avast and h ope it stops amy more bugs.
    Thanks again
