I recently got a Bluetooth - USB adapter for my PC. I don't like the software package that shipped with it. I was wondering if there is anywhere I can download drivers compatible with my Motorola Razr v3 cell phone that will work with Motorola Phone Tools Software?

    TIA

    Hi Brian,

If you don't like the software for it, it may be possible to install the drivers separately from the software. First place to look is on the CD. Use Windows Explorer to look at the drive, or in My Computer, right-click on the CD drive and select "Explore ". Look for a "Driver" folders.

Another way might be to uninstall any associated software...and while the adapter is connected, go to Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus Controllers, highlight the adapter (right-click) and select Uninstall. When you restart and connect the adapter, if Windows asks where to find the drivers, direct it to the CD.

Another way might be if you can find the .inf file for the adapter on the CD. Right-click on the file and select Install. When the Add New Hardware wizard runs, if you choose "Let me select the drivers from a list..." the adapter should appear in the "compatible hardware" list.

[FONT= "Arial"][SIZE= "2"]Thanks for your suggestion. I did try doing an un-install of BluSoliel, including the drivers. Then I let the Add Hardware wizard look for and install the driver for the BT to USB adapter. Only problem with that is my Motorola Phone Tools application (which is Bluetooth friendly) cannot "see" the adapter. Subsequently, I cannot pair the phone with MPT.

Aside from proprietary Motorola adapters MPT can sync with generic Microsoft adapters. That's why I am looking for a resource to obtain a "vanilla" XP BT adapter driver.
