You need to install the 32 bit driver for the printer on the 32 bit machine. Then make sure that you don't have it password protected, or if you do make sure you type it correctly.

Ok, the network install has tried to install the 64 bit drivers, which obviously won't work as the 32 bit and 64 bit editions use totally different and incompatible drivers. You need to un-install any and all drivers related to the printer on the 32 bit machine. Then TURN OFF the 64 bit machine long enough to install the driver and software package that came with the printer. If you have to go to the website of the manufacturer of the printer and download the correct 32 bit drivers for vista, then install. Once this is done, then turn the 64 bit machine back on and try again. It SHOULD work, if not try putting the printer on the 32 bit machine and networking it that way. The other option is to buy a "Printer server" it's a little box that lets you hook the printer to an ethernet hub. It will make the printer accessible to anyone on the network.
