Not sure exactly what it is called (maybe that's why I could find it by searching the forum???)

Anyway, I'd like for my Netscape 7.2 to bring up stuff I've typed in the past (like when I'm entering the name of my city in Mapquest, I'd like for my city to pop as a choice when I've typed just one or two letters of it). How do I enable Netscape 7.2 to do that. Thanks.

BTW, it already does that for URLs in the address box, so that must be the default there, nevertheless, I didn't see how to enable or disable that when I was looking for the other thing.

    rlambert,

Have you enabled this setting: Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Security | Forms

To disable the Location Bar preference:
Edit | Preferences | Navigator | Smart Browsing

  3. to hide this advert.

Well, I went there, I don't see as an option, what I am wanting to do.

That seems pretty specific. What I am look for is more general. Using the Mapquest example again, supposed I had looked for something in San Luis Obispo, CA, and then looked for something in San Diego, CA. Then next time I run Mapquest, and I am looking for something in San Diego again, I would like for it to do like IE does: After I have typed "San" in the city box, up would pop "San Diego" and "San Luis Obispo ", and then I could select the "San Diego "

    rlambert,

It does work, but not quite as you would like.

Enable the setting and close NS, so the preference is written to the prefs.js file
Open NS, go to MapQuest, type in the information for the search
Click on: Tools | Form Manager | Save Form Info
When you next access the site, click on: Tools | Form Manager | Fill in Form

This will open a page containing the last entries you made on this site. Select the entry you want, and the form will be filled in automatically.
