Whenever I run IE, it keeps on crashing showing the following error message:

The instruction at "0x77fc9906" referenced memory at "0x00000000 ". The memory could not be "written ".

It doesn't necessarily use the above memory addresses, they're different everytime. Usually, it happens when I fill out a form on a page and click "submit" or something similar to it. Examples include logging onto Hotmail, searching for items on Amazon, etc. I've tried upgrading to IE 6.0, installing Service Packs, security patches, etc.

The problem started when I upgraded to XP Pro from Me. I got sick of never being able to view the web so I reverted back to Me. Then I upgraded to 2000...guess what, problem came up again. Unfortunately, when I installed 2000, I changed my file system to NTSF, so I cannot revert back to Me without reformatting and reinstalling.

This problem has been driving me completely nuts for quite some time now and for some strange reason I believed I could fix it myself. I was wrong. Any suggestions outside reinstalling the OS? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a bunch,

To start with, run an anti-virus scan, download and run Ad-aware and visit this site. Also, run IE's Repair Tool and clear your temp files.
