Is there any way that you can add another user to your PC and make Internet explorer unavailable? I want someone to be able to use my PC but not get on the internet. Thanks

    I think there is .....

You do not give your OS, but in XP Pro, when logged on as administrator navigate to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and right click on iexplore.exe > Properties > Security tab and highlight the new user account and set the permissions in the check boxes - read this if the Security tab is not present (drive must be formatted NTFS)

In XP Home the Security tab is not present by default, but may be added ....

    Thanks PeteC,
I tried that but can't make it work. Here's my best try at details.
I have windows xp home. I open up my files with windows explorer.
When I click on the Internet explorer file if I right click I have the option for Sharing and Security. I left click and have the option tab for sharing when I click on the Sharing tab the first box says Local sharing and security. In that box is the option to "make this folder private" but it is grayed out.
I tried doing what you said but it did not change anything for me. There was some info about Windows NT 4.0 in the instructions but I'm not using that. Do I have the wrong download?

Unfortunately I do not have a copy of XP Home installed on any of my computers which makes it a little difficult to follow the methods through - all my installations are Pro.

Take a look at this MS Knowledgebase article ......

How to set, view, change, or remove file and folder permissions in Windows XP and see the note under Troubleshooting ....
If your drive is formatted FAT32 you will be unable to induce the Security tab to appear - this works only on drives formatted NTFS.

To check the format of your drive right click on the drive in My Computer > Properties and look at File System.
