I have unstalled Microsoft Works Suite 2001 Disk 1 which includes Works Suite 2001 Setup, Microsoft Works 6.0, Microsoft Word 200 SR-1 because I could not use my Microsoft Task Launcher. When I try to open my history files it says Works Task Launcher cannot access the list you selected. Files needed to start the programj may be missing, corrupted or may have been deleted. To restore or replace files reinstall the program they try printing again. If you no longer use the program delete it with the right mouse button.
The screen freezes and I get that message. These files are not deleted.
Do I have to uninstall/reinstall all 6 discs? HELP

Looks like these are your options:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q247602

If one of the other steps, suggested in the link^, do not help you to overcome your present trouble maker, I think I see an uninstall/reinstall, in your near future. [Should this prove to be the case, please make a special note of the registry cleanup tool suggested by MS.com.]

    Microsoft Works Suite Problem

I fixed the problem. Was told if I had Norton Antivirus 2002 to go into Norton...pick options...pick miscellaneous and the uncheck enable office plug in. Instant gratification.
    Thanks for your reply though.

Your most welcome. Glad to see that a reinstall wasn't necessary.

The "Norton/Word plug-in disable work around" was, by the way , the number ONE suggested culprit and fix provided by the link I gave you.

Thanks, back at ya', for updating post.
