After using the Send Link function in FF, I find that the next time I compose an email (I use gmail), that the same subject and body information is sent in the email. I have to manually delete that information in the compose window that opens up. I have found that clearing the cache and starting a new browser session (or just one of them, not sure which) will eliminate this, but I'd hate to have to do this as a work-around. Is there any setting I can tinker with, that will eliminate this? BTW--this isn't unique to the 2.x versions--I've had this problem for quite a while, actually.

I don't have Gmail, but I tested the issue by using Send Link from one e-mail address of mine to another. I have about ten addresses in TB1.5.0.10, so I had the default as sending address, but I changed it, and entered the address to Send to. The link was different each time with FF1.5.0.11 and 2.0.0.3.

What don't you understand? I will summarize: I used two different version of Firefox, and I sent different links, to make sure that I had some variety.
The major difference is that I don't have a Gmail account. I sent to more than one POP account of mine.

What I was looking for was some statement to the effect that you couldn't reduplicate the error on your own computer, which I believed to be what you were saying, but wasn't sure. Not knowing exactly what you meant, its possible that you could have been experiencing the same problem, given your wording in your first post. At any rate, thanks for the reply.

I was never able to duplicate your error. I guess that I was trying too many things, like different versions. I may not be clear, but I don't see where there is any ambiguity.
Anyway, sometimes no matter what is said, it will not be understood. May be I should have come out with a simple answer:Can't reproduce

    Hi Paul,

I do have a Gmail account, but am unable to duplicate your problem, and I'm unclear about something.

When I use the "Send Link" feature in FF, a Thunderbird (my default email client) compose window opens. Gmail is web-based mail, handled by your browser, so what opens on your system when you use "Send Link?

Jim, a gmail compose window opens up when I select Send Link. If I'm not logged in (which is quite rare), I get to the Gmail login page, but almost always, a compose window opens up.

EDIT: Jim, not too sure if the following is relevant or not, but I do have the webcomposeto extension installed, which opens up a Gmail compose window whenever I click on a mail:to link. According to my file types window, XP is set to use Outlook Express as my default email client (which I have never configured), but all mail:to links as well as the Send Link function in the right-click menu, are handled by Gmail.

    Interesting!

Just out of curiosity, how do you get "Send Link" to open a Gmail composition window? I can't find any settings which would allow that.

EDIT: You answered my question before I could post it. :)
