Why is it that when I change my search preferences such as the number of items on a page or change the safe search preferences, it only works for that session and the next time I have to redo it? How can I make them permanent until I change them again?
This question won't change life on the planet as we know it, but it drives me crazy.
    Thanks for your help.

Generally preferences require a cookie(s) to be allowed/written. It would appear you are allowing cookies to be set, but your browser option is set to "session only ". When you close the browser, the browser deletes all the cookies.
Another possible reason you have a security program / scanner which routinely checks your browser "cookie file" and automatically deletes them. You will need to check and change your options to not delete cookies for sites you want your preferences to be available for future sessions. Please be aware some sites require you to be a "Registered member" to set cookies and to be logged on for cookies/preferences to be active on future sessions.

Bingo, I don't know why I never thought of the cookies. Duh!
    Thanks.

    Your welcome Floyd.
I call it a good day if I can keep my "Duh" moments/mistakes below my shoe size. :D
