I have recently purchased a new laptop with 101GB of memory, which seems to be dissappearing fast! After only a few weeks of use I only have 23.8GB remaining. I have run disc clean up with little effect.
the files are listed as follows:

    dell: 7.84MB
    Doctemp: 6.7MB
    Drivers:29.8MB
    Music: 1.87MB
    Programs 5.16GB
    Users: 662MB
    Windows: 7.55GB

Which doesnt add up to 77.8GB does it?

Please could somebody advise where all my memory is being used
    Thanks
    Andrea

Hello Andrea and welcome to the BBS,

Are you looking in Task Manager (BTW, this is Win XP)? On the Processes tab you should see all the listings. You don't mention any services.

On the Performance tab, look at the Physical Memory readout. So for mine, Total is 1.03Gb (1039248Kb), Available is 0.78Gb (780Mb, actually 780300Kb), so with only running my browser, I am using 1030Mb-780Mb = 205Mb of memory.

Check your figures, if you are using (?) 778Mb of Total, yes I think there would be something wrong. Get back to us with the figures for Total and Available if you think this is the case.

    Matt
