Installation problem on XP - hardware or software?

    I am trying to do a complete XP re-install on a PC but having tried 2 different disks (confirmed to work on other machines) I am having the same problem:

    The intallation starts and gets to the stage where it loads the files needed for installation with the yellow 0% to 100% loading 'progress bar'. The machine then re-boots, as would normally happen, but then it just starts from the beginning again and the installation does not progress, I cannot get any further.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    I would try and remove all the cards except the video card and try again.
    if you get it to install then put your cards back in one at a time.

    bembaman - Welcome to the Board :)

    When the computer reboots are you hitting ' Strike any key to boot from CD' ? - if so don't. At this stage the installation boots from the hard drive.

    Alternatively the computer may boot automatically from the CD so open the CD-ROM drive as soon as the computer reboots. You will need to close the drive as soon as it is clear that the computer is booting from the hard drive.
