I have a 400 Watt Power Supply with a 120 mm Fan (with blue LED's)

I have recently purchased this case "Apollo ATX Mid Tower" and i seem to have a problem...

Well while all the rest seem to work, the Back 120 mm Fan and Side Blue LED 120 mm Fan, the front LED's seem to act differently...

Sometimes they will just start going really really dim and seem like they are trying to come back brightly... (they do after about 5-10 seconds)

I just want to know if it could be the power supply doing it. I have checked the wires and the 4 wire molex connecter and it seems ok... I even tryed to jiggle it but i don't think it effected the connection, so thats why i need to know if its my supply.

It seems to be connected to the 5V side on the molex connecter.

The top blue LED on the door says on fine... thats connected to the motherboard though as the Power LED

I was going to suggest going into the BIOS settings and checking the voltages, if the dimming might happen when you are there. If it is not "regular" in it's occurrence, I wonder if it might be a bad connection for one of the power connectors. The bad connection might not be on the LEDs, but on another piece of hardware that is pulling power away from the rest of the system.

Check that all the power connectors are seated all the way (some of the 4 pin Molex connectors can be very hard to push home all the way...and even harder to pull out  :) ).

Well i checked all the power connectors and tryed different molex connecters with the same result.

Maybe it is a piece of the hardware? I tryed going to my BIOS to check voltage settings but i cannot find any... I went to Power and it only have the option for start up after power failure. I even went into F11 mode (Advanced BIOS) and it didn't have any other options...

I have 2 Hard Drives (both 80 GB one a Western Digital and one a Seagate) with 2 cdrom drives (one a Samsung DVD 18 x burner and one Sony 48x burner) and of course the motherboard..

What can i do to try to tourbleshoot?

EDIT: the reason why this worries me is cause i don't want anything to be short circuiting or cause any fires...

EDIT2: It seems to be a wire problem.. i bent the part where they put the 2 lights in only 2 wires (besides 4) and it seems thats where the problem is... once i get done with this virus scan (Thanks to my brother giving me a virus from a myspace page.. ugh) i will see what i can do)

thanks for give a response to.

Hope you come up with positive results. Even if you disconnect the LEDs for a while and make sure the system has no continuing problems, that may be a test.

Fire...last possible source that I know of was the laptop batteries (pushing large amounts of energy into a storage system). Before that, several years ago, some CRT monitors (they work on high voltage). The 12 volts running in a computer case would be a highly unlikely risk of fire. Keep down the buildup of dust in the case and you should be worry free.

Well it was some type of transmitter or something they used that was causing the problem, once it took the tape they had on it off very carefully, it came apart..

At least it wasn't my power supply... off to micro center to buy new lights i guess lol

Also i try to keep it dusted ;-) i learned after the fan died in a power box and basically it overheated and died.
