    Oh me !

    Using Windows XP Pro.
    Using Windows Outlook Express.

A feature of Outlook Express we have been using for years has been embedding music files within email.

However, we do the same as we do for MID or WAV file types and
    embedd an MP3 file.

When we give the send command we get this error message:

"One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. "

Hey - an MP3 file is not a picture !

And if we ignore the message and send the mail anyway the
music file does not go normally. What we mean by that is:
    1. The music embedded will not play when first received.
    2. But if you "forward" the mail, then the music is activated.

Try it, send a mail to yourself and check my problem out.
Is it just my machine or .......?

Have you sent the mail to yourself? The problem could be on the receiving end...

The following table lists the file formats that Outlook Express supports for background sound.

Audio files .wav, .snd, .au, .aif, .aifc, .aiff
    MIDI files .mid, .rmi, .midi
Real Media files .ra, .rm, .ram, .rmm

    Error message mystery

    Thanks.

I guess we will just not embed MP3 files, as they are not supported.

    However:

If we ignore the warning and send the mail anyway then:

    1. The music does not play when the receiver opens the mail.
    2. But click forward and the music plays !

    Strange.

We have tried it with all files and this MP3 is the one that bombs
    out (halfway that is !).
