    Hello,
I found this forum from a search title, " Outlook Forum ". so I hope I can get some help here.

My problem began some time ago with, "pop-ups ", . . . I am an AOL user, and at that time I was having alot of pop ups, and thinking that they originated with Internet Explorer and since I thought I wasn't needing or using it, I proceeded to uninstall it with some difficulty.

I no longer have the IE Icon on my desk to since I deleted it all in a frustrated frenzy, after a thousand pop-ups, obviously, I didn't know what I was doing. :p

    While doing this I must have inadvertently altered some, Windows Outlook files, since I have had a check by the manufacturers of the software I am having a problem with and they have told me that I need to reinstall Windows Outlook;

In any case, there is no other way to make RingCentral operate properly at your computer as to install any version of Microsoft Outlook (not Outlook Express).

Due to the fact that RingCentral share its messaging subsystem with Microsoft Windows messaging or Microsoft Outllok there is no way to overcome this situation. Microsoft company doesn't support Windows messaging with Windows XP anymore. This means that the only way to get RingCentral working isto install/reinstall Microsoft Outlook and integrate RingCentral software with it.

Will very much appreciate any advice you can give, I have posted this in two other forums, one of which has replied, but I am still trying to find out, what happened to the original, "Windows Outlook ", before proceeding.

    P.S.

Jove - Welcome to the Board :)

You have one or two problems here ....

You cannot uninstall Internet Explorer as it is an integral part of Windows - If you have done so by simply deleting files your system has been seriously compromised.

Outlook is part of Microsoft Office, not part of Windows itself. If you need to install Outlook you will have to acquire a copy of it first. If you originally had it installed as part of Office simply re-install it.

It is my understanding that Internet and Outlook are coupled together, I'm not sure of exactly how that is, . . but, can you tell me how to find out what version I had when it was there ?

    Here is my systems info.

    MSOWC.DLL
    MS Office 2000 Web Co...
    MSOWF.DLL
    msowcf Module

    And . .

I have merged your last thread with your original and moved the merged thread to the Microsoft Mail forum.

If you want a thread moved please contact a Moderator - we have access to commands to enable us to do that.

Internet Explorer and Outlook Express are integrated together - neither can be uninstalled. Outlook is an entirely separate program - part of the MS Office suite.

The file details you post are mainly library files - I do not see the executable Outlook.exe.

As far as I can see you do not have Outlook installed and there is no way that I can tell you which version you had installed (if any) before you deleted some files.

Which browser are you using now - Internet Explorer? You posted that you had deleted it - how?

Which emailer are you using - Outlook Express?

When you look under Start > Programs are Internet Explorer and Outlook Express Listed?

Is Outlook listed? Unless you installed Outlook at some time in the past you never had it as it is not part of Windows, but a standalone program.

Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and look for an entry for Microsoft Office. If it is there highlight it and click on Change > Add/Remove components - is Outlook checked?

    Outlook Reinstallation Problem in WXP

    Hello Pete C,
Thanks for your reply, and for mergeing my post.

The following concerns the previous reply.

Internet Explorer and Outlook Express are integrated together - neither can be uninstalled. Outlook is an
entirely separate program - part of the MS Office suite.

The file details you post are mainly library files - I do not see the executable Outlook.exe.

As far as I can see you do not have Outlook installed and there is no way that I can tell you which version
you had installed (if any) before you deleted some files.

Which browser are you using now - Internet Explorer? You posted that you had deleted it - how?

At the time I was a novice and undersiege from a diluge of Pop-ups and spam, and other malwares that seemed impossible to solve, I was and still am using AOL, and had not yet been familiar with the abuses of that were implied by malware software etc.

I had more use for the AOL Browser and after tracking some of the malware pop-up advertisements to IE, having a difficult time uninstalling some, I decided that I would uninstall IE or try to.

I now know some many months later my browser is entered as, Browser D Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6 , the I con has been deleted.

And when trying to restore it It takes on the form of an AOL Icon, but the browser or ways that I access the Internet is by using AOL as my server.

Which emailer are you using - Outlook Express?
I use AOL mail since my previous use was using O.E., and will not work with AOL.

When you look under Start > Programs are Internet Explorer and Outlook Express Listed?
    No it is not.

It is possible that I have been misinformed and Outlook was never factory installed.
I would be glad to send you informations necessary.

Is Outlook listed? Unless you installed Outlook at some time in the past you never had it as it is not part of Windows,
    but a standalone program.

If it was a stand alone I did not install it, and therefore believe that it was never installed.

Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and look for an entry for Microsoft Office. If it is there highlight it and
click on Change > Add/Remove components - is Outlook checked ?

I am not sure, what your asking, are you saying to remove it, because that is what will happen if I click C/R ?

From what you have posted I am reasonably sure that you do not have Outlook installed and, as I posted earlier, Outlook is part of Microsoft Office.

I need to establish if you have Office installed ....

Do you have Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel on the computer?

    If you search for ...

    winword.exe
    excel.exe
    outlook.exe

    Are any of these found?

All you need to do is paste the URL into your post

    http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/JoJoPoole/20of92WordFilesFound.jpg

    http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u97/JoJoPoole/MicrosoftOffice.jpg

There is a problem with the last link.

From what I can see you do not have Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel on your computer and thus not Office either.

    If Word was installed winword.exe would be in C:\Program Files\ ..... excel.exe would also be in C:\Program Files\ ....

I think we can safely sat that you do not have Microsoft Office installed and therefore do not have Outlook either.

    Pete C,
The urgency of my problem began when I developed a modem problem with an installed fax software, the OEM. previously informed me that I had uninstalled Outlook, however, I am beginning to find out that they probably meant something related in the E.I. bundle, that is interplaying with outlook or one of its partner components.

Some interesting feedback from research thus far.

I have not tracked this statement down but I believe it cam from MS or Compaq :

I have verified our database and your Presario desktop is not
preinstalled with MS office 2000. So, it is not possible to reinstall
Microsoft Outlook 2000 or office 2000

The following statement came from FAX Software OEM

Yes, I'am sure that your Microsoft Outlook was instaled and then uninstaled from your computer.
Unfortunately it's true that there is no way to overcome this problem.
Some time ago Microsoft company decide to not support Windows messaging system with Windows XP anymore.
This meens that in order to use Ringcentral software with Windows XP you need to reinstall Microsoft Outlook.

    The following concerns the previous message;

    winword.exe
    excel.exe
    outlook.exe

I will search these terms and reply.

    From here .....

http://www.ringcentral.com/faq scroll to the bottom of the page ....
This is most likely from Compaq ....
So the bottom line is that you do not have Microsoft Office which is necessary for RingCentral to function.

I am not sure that we can go any further on this.

    Thanks Pete,

    No search terms found.

The thing is the fax software worked fine on this operating system I do not know why they insist that I have to reinstal outlook.

I just want to get it working again !

Let me send out some inquiries and get it straight with them that I do not have OL and never did, and I will post back.

Thank you much, see you later.
