I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop with XP Professional. When I try to upgrade to SP2 I get a "cannot copy CAB file" failure. I'm told to uninstall SP2 and start over. When I try to uninstall SP2, I get a "file not found" error and it quits uninstalling. This feels like OS purgatory. I'm stuck between OS's, resulting in some instability issues. I need SP2 to perform some software upgrades to my Outlook and to my Moto Q but can't.

    Can someone help me?

Hello marcus and welcome to the Board,
You're going to have to use a System Restore point prior to the install. SP2 should have created a restore point at the start of the install attempt.

    Start > All programs

    Accesories

    System Tools

    System Restore

By default, "Restore My Computer to an earlier time" is ticked > next and in the next dialog window, highlight the calendar day and SP2's restore point. If the SP2 install didn't get that far, then pick the closet one prior to the install attempt.

    Regards - Charles
