    Hi Al,

Still happening at startup and shutdown? Have you noticed anything happening consistently eg,. exact same point every time. Are the dumps still referring to different files?

Drastic action time? Disconnect added hardware (PCI cards, etc), go into the BIOS settings and disable all the onboard hardware. Add back one piece of hardware at a time and test it thoroughly until the crashes start again. Narrow down the culprit that way and/or start updating all your drivers one by one. *Updating the drivers means manually tracking down the correct ones, I have never used Windows "...find the drivers on the internet" because the wrong ones might be installed and who knows what might happen then  .

    Hi Matt,

Crashes are occuring on startup and shutdown but also at other times ! Had not checked what is the culprit for a while in the dump file.

Will go back over the last few crashes and post if any pattern has developed.

Will then do as suggested ! Remove any unrequired PCI cards and if still the same disable on-board devices and renable one at a time to hopefully find the problem device !

    Will keep you posted.

    Many Thanks
    Al.

    Hi Mattman,

After disabling and eliminating most elements of the system i got hold of another ABIT socket 775 motherbaord to try ! Glad to report works great with no issues with all other components working fine !

Also started to get issues with parity errors and hard drive not being detected before motherboard swap out !

Thanks for all your help - it was greatly appreciated

    Regards

    Al.

    Hi Al,

You tracked it down, well done. I have seen so many motherboard problems lately, from no startup, to minor bugs which grew into major ones. Thanks for the feedback, taking out added hardware can identify that area reasonably easily, when the problem remains, is it the motherboard, the graphics, the RAM or the CPU? You may need to be somewhat dedicated to keep looking :)

    Hope it goes well!

    Matt
