Here's one I cannot find an answer to ANYWHERE on the net. Plugged my old logitech scroll optical into my new Vista machine. Intermittently (90% of the time), when scrolling, it will invoke the Back action on the browser. It happens in IE7 and Firefox 2.0. I want it to just scroll like a normal scroll wheel. It's especially infuriating when zooming in and out on Google maps, it's just not possible as it keeps going BACK a page. I cannot find an option to disable this behavior anywhere.

    Anyone else seen this?

    Any ideas for a correction?

If you have Logitech software for the mouse installed I would suggest de-installing it, re-booting, and letting Vista find the mouse as new hardware.
I have a lot of respect for Logitech hardware, but their software is sometimes very buggy.

I share your sentiment when it comes to Logitech software. However, I have no Logitech software installed to begin with. In fact, that's not even an option. The mouse is a few years old (the old iFeel Mouseman - the only mouse that's felt RIGHT in my hands) and is no longer supported by Logitech. So I'm stuck with Windows drivers no matter what.

Has nobody else run into this most annoying problem?

I thank you for your suggestions and I've looked through most all of those sites. However, I trolled the internet for a LONG time before I decided to post this question. I don't think it's documented ANYWHERE which is why I'm trying to find someone who is experiencing the same thing.

I use a Logitech Trackman Wheel and have had numerous problems with the Setpoint software and Vista. For a time I used older versions of the Mouseware drivers - but they've even started to act up on me (although I'm still using it now). When using the older Mouseware you must use XP SP2 compatibility mode and select Run as Administrator.

I've also used the Microsoft Intellipoint software if I need added functionality.
