Ihave a dragon kt400 ultra with windows xp pro . my raid instalation had become corupt and wouldnt boot. so i installed a ide hard drive and installed windows . i wanted to see if i get get my files back from the raid drive so i installed the raid drivers on my new ide drive and it found it.. i then rebooted and it named my raid drives E: and i could access my files. well one day i booted up and it was trying to boot to raid>? i can no longer boot to the ide and my files on my raid are lost.. why would it do that . and how can i make it work again so my ide drive boots and not the raid.. i have 6 years of files that i do not want to lose.l thank you for any help you can give me.

Look in the BIOS for the section on Boot Sequence. Make sure it's set to boot off the IDE...

Then get yourself a backup solution and forget about Raid 0;)

i looked in the bios. it only says hdd0 hdd1 hdd2 and so forth. but the prob seems to be when i look at the raid array. it says hdd0 and the ide is also booting from hdd0 how can i change that.. i see no options in the raid program. and the raid is ide also.. still trying to figure out why it stoped booting from the single drive and back to the raid?

I guess you changed your mind about get get getting your files back when you had the chance. I'm with Steve - lose the RAID 0.

As to your current dilemma, You have IDE 1, 2, 3 & 4. 3 & 4 are your RAID headers. Lets start with you giving us drive assignments by header and the drive pinouts = MA, SL or CS. Then give us your boot sequence for all options currently employed.

    ;)
