Dual booting XP and Vista Ultimate.

Have DSL modem/router along with wireless router.

I can connect with my laptop via wireless router and browse the net, e-mail without problems.

If I try to Map a Network Drive via Explorer | Tools it will kill the connection. I have to shut down computer, modem and wireless router and reset modem before I can connect again.

Same happens if I try to add a printer on the laptop.

This all happens with Vista. From Vista I can connect to the laptop and see all the drives files or whatever.

The laptop has XP Pro on it.

If I boot into XP Pro from this computer none of these problems exist.

Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this?

I really want to follow up this complaint. I have exactly the same setup. Vista and the internet has been running without the slightest problem for many months. The last week I have started to experience the same symptom. For Dennis - has this started recently? I am thinking it might be an update that is causing the problem.

    Hi Dennis,
You aren't running Live One Care by any chance are you? I had the same problems until I dumped LOC, and I haven't had them since.

    Roger:confused:

I did both of these. This allowed me to 'Map a Network Drive' and moved files around.

But connecting a printer still does not work. It adds the printer but when you try to use it the connection is lost again and you have to shutdown and power cycle the modem again.

Hmmm.....I replied to this earlier but I do not see the reply now.

I am not using Live One Care.

    Update:

I deleted the printer on the laptop.

Renamed the printer on Vista and made sure it is sharing.

Added it again to the laptop.

    Now I can print.

Don't know why it worked this time.
