Hi there, I am installing Win Xp on pentium III Pc. There was a previous windows Xp installation. I erased it, deleted the partition and tried to create a new partition of 30G. It stops at 95% of formating the partition. Is it a hard disk issue? if so do I have to change the hard disk? or can I repair it? and is there any tools I can use to repair the hard disk?

    thanks in advance...

Go here and download the diagnostic software for your HD. Run it and it should be able to format the drive or tell you why not.

Do I copy the diagnostic program on a CD and then boot from that CD on that computer?

I think most of them are for creating floppies but if you'll tell me which one you need I can check it out. If you have already downloaded it and it's an .exe file, double click it and it'll ask for whatever it requires. I suspect it'll be wanting a floppy.
