I have a disc that teaches word 2002 - & have referred to this many times.
I went to play the disc a few days ago & I got this error message.
Run Time Error 339 - Component "TREED 32,OCX" - or one of its dependencies not correctly registered. A file is missing or invalid.
Why has this happened now??? I have tried finding info about this problem on the net with no success - maybe someone here can help me.
    Thank you,
    Lucy

    Hello Lucy,

In searching on this, came across this link: http://www.silacom-tech.com/kbuilder-m27c/index.php?page=index_v2&id=9&c=2

As a general precautionary option before embarking on any fix, create a manual System Restore point. If you don't know how, type System Restore into Help and Support's search box for a how to.

Please post back on any results.

    Regards - Charles

Hi Charles - The site you directed me to - did not work after following their directions !! As for the restore point - that sounds way too complicated for me to follow. This is so annoying & why it would happen now - when I was able to view this programme before.
Thanks for the help - hope there is something else I can do ????

    What does that mean???

    Hi Lucy,

Ok - lets see if I can simplify it:
    Start > All programs

    Accesories

    System Tools

    System Restore

    Tick Create a restore point

    Next

Enter a description - this is anything you want to write

    Create

    Then Close

On your original problem, I'll look around some more and get back to you.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi Lucy,

I would avoid using that program or any Registry program - especially with those kind of error numbers.

No I'm not familiar with this particular one. Keep in mind that among those errors are harmless registry entries and that you're being urged to buy something.

Registry fix programs, even the legitimate ones, are not for novices.

What you can do in the meantime is gather info from your system for us to look at:

Please download HijackThis! SetUp from http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/HJTsetup.exe
Save the file to your desktop.

Double-click the HijackThis! SetUp icon to begin the installation.

Follow the prompts for the defualt install location of:'C:\Program Files\HijackThis'.

Tick the 'Create a desktop' button when the option appears.

Select next, then allow HijackThis! to start.

    Then press the [Scan] button.
You will notice the [Scan] button will turn into a [Save Log] button.
Click the [Save Log] button and notepad will open up with the contents of the scan.

Right-click in the saved log, and select 'copy'.

Paste the saved contents into your next post.

    Regards - Charles

Hi once more Charles - my daughter was able to find the missing file & put this file in system 32 folder We were then able to register the file & now I am able to run my CD for word. She did all of this by remote assistant - I would be lost if we couldn't do this for my computer. She is so knowledable & I would have asked for her help - but sometimes I don't want to bother her - & this time I should have.
Thanks so much for your help & I am going to try & get my money back for the registryfix program - Sure hope I succeed.
    :) :) :) :) Lucy

    Hi Lucy,

Glad to hear the problem got solved :)

Looking over your log, as far as I can tell, your system looks to be ok.

Yes, hope you do get your money back.

That Remote Assistence is a hand dandy feature, isn't it, especially if you have a knowlegable person on the other end.

    Regards - Charles
