I use a dial-up connection. I have noticed that sometimes photos in a web page do not fully load before my browser indicates "done." When this happens I have to refresh the page in order to see all the content. Is this just because the dial-up is slow or is there an adjustment to IE I can make which will correct this?

That and how much traffic there is on the line - same as on high speed connections where the bandwith narrows due to traffic. Its just much more noticable on a Dial up.

    Hi, CTiiix. :)

I also have a similar issue on dial-up. For example, when I view forum threads (at other sites) that have lots of images in the messages, my browser (usually Firefox but other browsers as well) often does not render all the images visible. If I click "reload" or "refresh ", I can sometimes get a few more images to download and appear on the page but, even then, I often don't get them all.

I was recently viewing a snowmobile forum thread that contained lots of images of snowmobile club trail maintenance workers in action. (Whew! They put a lot of volunteer work into maintaining snowmobile trails for our enjoyment!) However, many of those posts included discussions of images that simply were not visible in my browser. I finally got fed up and quit reading the thread.

So far, it's an issue I have learned to live with (although it's annoying). I usually just avoid the forums that tend to have lots of images in the messages. I have resigned to the notion that I am no longer in the Internet mainstream with a dial-up. Seems more and more websites (with all their images, Flash content, etc.) are assuming their viewers are on broadband connections. The only broadband options I know of that I have at this time is to go with satellite or use my computer at work. Tried getting DSL installed several years ago but it turned out I was too far away from the switching station for a reliable connection.

I'm sorry this is not a helpful response for you. Misery loves company though. ;)

BTW, Windows BBS pages almost always open up quickly in my browser. :D Thanks, Arie!
