That's because if you only have addresses in the BCC field there isn't a To: address. If you want to get rid of the message, you'll need to put an address in the To: field. Your own for example.

Add a new contact to your Address Book - Undisclosed Recipient using your email address and then send the email to Undisclosed Recipient with bcc to everyone else.

Received your email - From 'DA' To 'your email address'.

As I posted before you need to do this as shown in the attached jpg.

Send email to Undisclosed Recipient with bcc to other folk and they will see what you saw on my email.

hi pete, yes thank you, i've done as you said, i've sent the email to 3 email addresses and 2 of them who use outlook say it just says undisclosed recipient, so thats great, but one of them who does not use outlook, it says this in the To field

Undisclosed Recipient <shows in these arrows my email address>

i'll just confirm what i've done, in the JPG attachment you sent me, that info went in the To box and the 3 email addresses went in the Bcc box

Not a lot you can do about that - clearly not all recipient email programs behave the same.

hi pete, well thank you for all your time and help with the above, at least now i know how to do that!

if i can just bug you for one final question please, not sure if this is your area, when i receive emails from companies, in the To field it says my email address, obviously these companies don't send emails to each email address individually, they must send alot of emails all in one go, so does outlook express or even outlook 2003 or outlook 2007 have the facility where i can send let say 10 emails to 10 email addresses all in one go and each of those 10 emails that people receive, it will just say in their To field just their email address and no other email address, if none of the outlook programs have that facility, is their another program you know of?

    sorry to disturb you again!!!

In Outlook Express you would have to do that manually - send 10 individual messages.

I can't comment on Outlook as I don't use it, but, as it is more often used in a commercial environment I would be surprised if that was not possible. You need a response from an Outlook expert.

ReggieB may come back on this, but if not start a new thread with Outlook clearly in the title to pull in the Outlook experts.
