Whenever I receive a webpage in OE I get an error whenever I try to open it. The error window is titled Internet explorer script error. It then says that an error has occured in the scrpt on this page. At the bottom it asks if I want to continue to run scripts or not. It doesn't matter if I choose yes or no, the page will eventually show after clicking on a button.

Any one know what the deal is?

I am running XP SP2 and IE 7.

To try the easiest thing first...and since OE shares many settings with IE...in Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab. Scroll down to the "Browsing" sections and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error," click OK.

See if that eliminates the annoying error message.

Yep....did that first along with the other 2 boxes about disable script degugging (both are checked).

This has been a problem for quite awhile with me. I finally updated IE to 7 about 3 weeks ago hoping this would stop it, but no go.

    Thanks,

    Scott

Thanks for the links....but no go. Didn't find anything that helped.
This is the window with the error.

Here it is after I click on either yes or no (it doesn't seem to matter which button I click, it still completes the images)

    Thanks again for the links.

These sites really only address the error when in IE. I don't get the errors while in IE, only when I try to open an email I have of a web page.

    script error

    Hi Bigshot,

I entered the same problems as you have. Every time I opened outlook, this annoying script error message asked me to answer 'yes' or 'no', although it did not make any difference.
I got rid off it by inserting the install cd of microsoft office (I don't know your version, but take the install cd of the version you have installed). A window will appear with the question: install, remove or repair. Choose repair. It worked by me, so why would it not work with you?
    succes!

Well it might be worth a try. I am running Word 2000 so I am not sure it has anything to do with it, but I can try.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

    Hi Loudone,

can you look in Start->Settings->Adinistrative Tools->computer management->Event viewer->applications? There you will find a log. If there are red highlighted items concerning the corrupted application, doubleclick them, take a screen shot and post them. So everbody can take a look...

Yes I am getting similar messages on nearly every single e-mail - good reason to go Apple!! Surely someone somewhere would have figured this out (in fact Microsoft should get off their butts and correct it as it is only since I updated my security software that this happened
