I need to restore my Windows 2000 Professional Registry.

I have a tape backup of "system files' made before my problem and I have a Registry Export file as well.

Which should I use (tape restore) or import the registry export?

How does one go about doing either. I can find no info on how to do either of these tow items and am hesitant to simply experiment (learn by trying).

    Need your help. Thank you.

Which of the two file sources is likely to be the most current - tape copy of export?

The tape is the most recent and it appears to have all the system and registry files. But I can't find a list of what files I should be looking for.

    Thank you.
