Yes, as BillyBob said, it could simply be that some of your apps are not all "playing friendly in the sandbox ". IE, there could be a bug in Football Manager.

I use CCleaner to eradicate apps that force themselves to start up with Windows. I think the only one I've left "unwhacked" is my anti-spyware suite. You can find it on the net. It's a neat tool whose primary function is to clean all the junk that Windows leaves behind.
