    Hi
I installed AML registry cleaner and it is showing 900+ entries which they advise to be removed.
I am hesitant to do this as I am not really confident about it.
There are dozens of Microsoft software items some of which are:
    software/microsoft/installer products
    software/windows/current version
30 entries Hkey_users\s-1-5-21-3305781904-3999868-759-274907743 (I don't even know what they mean)
    also dozens of McAfee updates
I like to keep my computer clean so would really appreciate knowing what I can remove

    Thank you

    Biddie

Cleaning the Registry is a gamble at best and can be a disaster at worst. If your system is working well, I would advise leaving all of those 900+ items alone.

No doubt you'll get other opinions but the top gurus in the field seem to feel that Registry cleaning does no good in most cases.

    Recent thread on the subject.

You're welcome! I know of nobody who is sorry that they didn't run a registry cleaner. There are hundreds of threads on this forum started by those who are sorry that they did.

    All the best.

    Registry Backup

It never hurts to make a backup of your registry.
The registry cleaning program should do it or allow you to do it.
Manually go start>run > regedit > export registry
Mark that registry in a date or descriptive term that will be readily identifiable to you.
    Do a System Restore backup
start >all programs > system tools > system restore > create a point

this way if you run into problems you can restore the registry back to where you were.

It won't help much more than it already has since that's the same link I posted. :D
