The problem could be lack of RAM - the onboard video is taking between 128 - 256 (? - not 286?) leaving not a lot of the I GB of installed RAM left.

Check out the RAM requirements for FIFA 2007 - may be a lot higher than you think :)

Maybe I've missed the boat but I've never heard of an integrated graphics solution that can play games that are just coming out.

Are you sure that that PC didn't have a separate video card installed?

Your mainboard has a PCI-E 16X slot. You may have to invest in not only a PCI-E video card but quite a powerful one to play a game that's just been released.

I'd put some serious money on the fact that your slow performance is not due to having 1GB of ram but because your video solution is not up to the task.

    first of all
i'd like to thank y'all for tryin to help
    secondly
isnt the video card built in on the motherboard?!
for sure its gonna make a difference
isnt there any way other than buyin a new GFX card to solve the prob?
    pleeeez tell me there is
i also bought a NFS Carbon game
and when i run it, it says "nfsc.exe has caused an error..... "
is that also a hardware prob
    BTW
my PC passes all the technical specs for the FIFA 07 & NFS Carbon?!

Are you sure your onboard video meets the requirements for these games??? I would sincerely doubt it.

You've picked a couple of very recent games there. To put it simply, new games require quite hefty video cards.

I would guess that the reason you got the error in Carbon is that your onboard video is not supported by the game.

If you're serious about gaming, in the long run your onboard video will be woefully inadequate.

Can you specify exactly what onboard video is in your system?

    Chiles4, graphics is
    from what I can find.

    System Requirements for FIFA 07:
Looks like it should be well within requirements.

You do have DirectX version 9.0c? Look at dxdiag, go to Start -> Run type and enter dxdiag. You could run some of the tests there. The problem may even be due to audio drivers.

    Update the chipset drivers:
    http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr...XP+Home+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=45&submit=Go!

Find your graphics adapter drivers from the Graphics listings in the left-hand menu:
    http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Support_Intel.aspx#
For example, Intel® 82G965 Graphics and Memory Controller Hub. The model number of the adapter should be listed under Display Adapter in Hardware Manager (or look up your chipset at Intel).

Not only the amount of RAM but what ( or combination of what ) is using it. Over a period of time I have found that conflicts cause problems too. Also loading too much at bootup may not help either. ( ram usage and conflicts )
On my machine A&B together will run fine. On my Wifes machine A&B will crash it.

Why won't a game run correctly? Check the system requirements first. Laptops can be limited in some areas, but when they talk about a minimum of an ATI 7200 or an nVidia 5200 graphics card and you have an Intel graphics system, that's when things can get hard to follow :D

Just a tip, on the game's CD or DVD, there should be a "readme" .txt or .doc file (some are readme.1st). These will have the system requirements for the game and also any "last minute" additions from the game's testers. Some graphics cards may need special settings (although this is becoming rarer as graphics cards become more standardized).

Drivers, they may not get installed correctly. Windows XP SP2 may need updated drivers again. The graphics may work well on one version of their drivers and not on another....arrrgggghh! :D

I purposely installed a game that was outside the system requirements one time. It ran quite well except for those parts that were "complicated" for the graphics or CPU, then it would stutter or slow down. The drivers I thought were quite good, because in normal/uncomplicated running it performed as though I was using hardware that was well within the system requirements.
